World War I was not caused like most other wars. Airplanes weren't flown into buildings, ships weren't blown up and no one was invaded. Unlike all other wars, the circumstances that created World War I were politically more complex. When Bosnian revolutionary Gavrilo Princip assassinated Austrian Archduke, Franz Ferdinand and his wife on June 28th 1914 the world would be changed forever. Although this directly caused World War I, it also sparked Adolph Hitler's hatred and anger which led to World War II. Imperialism, Nationalism and Militarism are all also major causes of World War I
