Since the early 1950s, a number of psychiatrists, medical doctors, psychologists, and nurses have used Hypnosis as a complementary treatment in various situations as in the reduction of pain, to supporting women in labor and delivery to the reduction of severe phobias. Some medical professionals have received training in Hypnosis and have hypnotized clients themselves while others refer clients to outside hypnotherapists. According to the American and British Medical Associations, there is evidence that Hypnosis works to relieve pain and anxiety. But can it be used to help adult persons with Type 2 Diabetes lower their blood glucose levels and affect their Hemoglobin A1c average (HgB A1c) level?
