Collaborative Leader

For public health leaders to be success in their field they need to be a collaborative leader. Being a collaborative leader involves continuously learning, creating, managing and applying of knowledge that enable an effective leader to deal with the constant changing environment, complexity, and uncertainty that affects the health of the general public. Collaborative leaders utilizes critical thinking process further, which is skill that is required for decision making which is an important component for public health professional because they participate in decisions that affects the general population. They interact with a multicultural, diverse group of people to solve problems that have ethical considerations. In sum, an effective public health leaders should have the ability to foresee the big picture, to think and plan strategically, and share their vision with others.
