Tesco is the largest British retailer and is also the world's third largest grocery retailer with outlets across Europe, USA, and Asia. Jack Cohcn, one man in 1919 started the grocery business in the East End of London. In 1929, the first Tesco store opened in North London. (Annual report 2009)
T.E stock well and Cohen combined originally sold tea names the brand- TESCO tea. At present Tesco is operating over 2200 stores ranging from the large hypermarket style stores to small in all over the United Kingdom. Tesco has diversified its original product grocery and general merchandise to include banking, insurance, service electrical goods as well as telephone equipment and airtime.
