Truth Journalists Iraq

In a journalistic context, it is a widely held belief that ‘truth is the first casualty of war’. The words of Winston Churchill, “Truth is so precious that she must often be attended by a Bodyguard of Lies” also encapsulates the universal truism that the truth is inevitably distorted in times of war. Never has this been so apparent than in the United States’ ‘war on terror’ and in particular Operation Iraqi Freedom.
