Acute Myocardial Infarction and Hypertension

In such patients, elective dental surgical procedures should be postponed to prevent the occurrence of dysrhymias and cardiac arrest (Scully & Cawson, 2005).
As most patients with past history of myocardial infarction are placed on potent platelet inhibitors, such as clopidogrel, extra care is required to be taken when doing any surgical procedures as they are likely to result it significant bleeding (Ischaemic heart disease part many books).
