Earlier this week, October 20th, Eugene V. Debs was passed away in his sleep, and his body was brought back to Terre Haute for burial. Eugene Victor Debs was one of the founding fathers of the labour movements and tried his hand at presidency of the United States. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on November 5, 1855. He left his school work in pursuit of employment. He became a paint scraper in the Terre Haute railroad yards. Soon he rose to become a locomotive. After some time he decided to pick up where he left on in school and took night classes at a local business college in his spare time.
