Health Care Policy

Healthcare is one of the very basic needs necessary for human existence. In the absence of good health, an individual will be regarded as not normal i.e. ill. Shannon (2004) states that, "… by keeping people close to normal functioning, healthcare preserves for people the ability to participate in the political, social, and economic life". In today's society, there are a myriad of issues such as poverty and inequality, HIV and AIDS, chronic and infectious diseases that are posing a great challenge to the healthcare system. Governments as well as individuals in rich and poor nations are spending a sizeable amount of their incomes trying to solve some of these issues but the challenge is yet to be overcome.
