Inability to Get Up after Falling, Subsequent Time on the Floor, and Summoning Help: Prospective Cohort Study in People over 90

The objectives of this study were to determine the incidence of inability to get up after a fall and the extent of lying on the floor without being able to get up after a fall. It also aimed to explore the use of call alarm systems in these circumstances. The population under study are people aged over 90 years.
The research was done using a prospective cohort study over a one year period. This study design is appropriate for the research question because it an analytical method that can be used to measure more than one outcome. It is also ethically safe and cost effective.
