This article develops primarily thesis about the future of law given present and expected trends in information technology (IT). It identifies a range of factors that need to be considered when analysing three key components of his thesis. The article imagines what the day in the life of a 'lawyer' in 2020 might be like. It then considers implications for legal academia over the next two decades, based partly on various experiments in recent years. The article concludes on a note of `inconclusion', however, suggesting that the future of law in cyberspace is tied up with much broader issues of technological change and governance amidst globalisation.
