Sports Dissertation - Blood Doping Effects

What was once developed as a treatment for anemia and chemotherapy patients, blood doping, was introduced off the black market as a performance enhancing drugs. It was developed in Russia and soon spread throughout the entire world. Many individuals have had their gold medals and reputations taken away from them just for using the blood doping technique. Although blood doping does have a bright side with helping athletes achieve the top goal of being the best; the negative effects far out weigh any positive effects. Kidney failure, heart disease, strokes, cancer and death among others can be the effects of blood doping. Testing has been developed to catch athletes doping in several sporting events, such as the Olympics.
